Why do I put myself thru' this ?

Got up at 7.30 yesterday to watch City at Wigan on TV.
2 down within 3 mins thanks to poor defending and a comedy own goal from the Dunney monster.
Lost 4-0 and while that is nothing new to City fans, the complete capituation that merited the chanting of "You're not fit to wear the shirt" signals deeper problems within the club.So what's wrong? Stuart Pearce is an excellent motivator, and the players appear to like/respect him.But mid season last year,he brought in Steve Wigley from Southampton as 1st team coach. Since then, we took a tail dive last season -losing 13 of the last 16- form which has carried over to 2006-07.

Pearce seemed to buy well in the summer but we have been incredibly unlucky with injuries(11 senior pros injured) but I fail to see where the goals are going to come from...certainly not Corradi, nor Samaras on current form.Dickov (love him) but will get 7-10 max..Vassell ? Hopefully.
So what to do?
Get rid of Wigley, and Wardle has to make money available in the January transfer window...otherwise it'll be yet another relegation and all that brings with it (perhaps without the increased crowds this time).

Luckily it looks like Watford and Sheff Utd will be worse than us, so please step forward one other p-l-e-a-s-e.

The Friday Night Club

This has become a bit of a tradition over the past couple of months...
The dodgy-looking characters in the photo get together every friday night (after the kids indoor football). We take it turn to host- the kids play and the adukts unwind after the work week.
It's great ! All teh adults get along great , the kids play really well together, and we all live in the same neighbourhood so we can walk back and forth !
Thanks to John for the great collage

1st week in the new job...

Hi everyone !
Well the 1st week in the new job was great ! The people I am working with are super- friendly and helpful. Met pretty much everyone in the 1st couple of days, and even remembered many names ! The atmosphere is very laid-back (which suits me) but very professional.
All in all I think it went pretty well.

Got lazy

Well it seems some people did bookmark this site as I've been getting a few comments that I've been getting lazy with my posts.
Hmm.Life has been crazy these last few weeks. The main development is that I start a new job tomorrow .
Yes after 17 years it was time to move on, so I will be the new kid in the schoolyard tomorrow morning.
They held a massive piss-up in my honour last Tuesday(could we not have had a Friday ? Another 3 years and maybe ..).To cut a long story short...lots of beer, shooters, and bed at 4am-crashed at the Days Inn for the night as a workmate from Ottawa was here.
Woke up at 8.30, felt fine,....realised I was still pissed, then ahd the pleasure of the encroaching hangover at work...the spinning room, the sweats, shivers and the other word that starts with s.

Just to polish off the week, we were at the Winking Judge beer festival in Hamilton with friends this saturday, despite the fact I'd had more beer this week that a rugby team.

Today was Turkey Day here -so Colleen's family were all over - ate too much tho' with starting the new gig tomorrow I laid off the booze today !

Will update the blog later in the week with news of the new gig.
Cheersh
