"IT'S THE WOL -EF"

As a kid I used to love the TV show "It's the Wolf" where Lambsy used to tell everyone that Mildew the wolf was about to attack and dangle her of a cliff or some such nonsense ...and of course, when the wolf DID finally appear, nobody believed her (I looked the names up on Google as my memory is not that good!).
Well... this cartoon was a view into future US foreign policy. Now that the US has made a mess of Iraq, it only makes sense to the US to finish the job and to pop nextdoor and sort out the other pesky thorn in its side -Iran.
Now, I am no fan of the Iranian leadership, especially when it comes to his views on Israel and the holocaust, but just what does the US think it will achieve if it continues to rise to the bait?
Any strike on Iran would set alight an already treacherous situation in that region. The Russians have long had strong trade and diplomatic relations with Iran, and are unlikely to back the West if push comes to shove.
A standoff between Iran (backed by Russia)and the West would return us to the terrifying doomsday scenarios of the Cold War - except this time, the US (and UK) have lost the moral high ground thanks to an illegally-declared war in Iraq...
On the other hand, the world cannot allow the current Iranian leadership to possess a nuclear arsenal. So here we go again, with the US rolling out its whole "weapons of mass destruction" rhetoric, and this time - guess what - the wolf IS actually a real danger but who's going to believe and trust Lambsy this time around?

Picked the new car up!

Oh it's great having a Japanese instead of American vehicle! We are all really happy with the shiny new blue Mazda 5 -all we need to do is name it now ....
It's current working title nickname is the Tardis as it's dark blue, looks small on the inside but is massive inside, but we need a name starting with M....Current fave is 'Mica" - as the colour is Indigo Mica Blue acc to the Mazda specs, and it also corresponds to Andrew's favourite City player, Micah Richards...but what happens when he moves to united or Chelsea at some point??? Hmm...
I'd quite like a Japanese name, so maybe we'll do some "baby name" research...hey - don't mock - this is important stuff! Suggestions welcome!

Winter finally arrives!

Yes Ontario finally got a dumping of snow this week. It's bveen freezing cold all month to the extent that Global warming has kind of dropped off the front pages, but we hadn't had any snow to speak of til this week.

Andrew Sean and I built this snow fort today (my back is KILLING me now) and showed the flag to celebrate City's first ever-recorded avoidance of a banana skin in a cup match!

Jan/Feb roundup

It's been a while since I updated this blog, and you may have given up on us!
It's the time of year that hibernation is the norm, but we have ventured out a few times.
We had a great getaway to Niagara Falls -Great Wolf Lodge, with its massive indoor waterpark. There were 20 of us in our group, and fun was had by all - whether it was the kids screaming their heads off on the rollercoaster water ride or the "grown-ups" enjoying the 32 oz margaritas pooloside!
I'm having problems posting links for some reason but if you Google Great Wolf Niagara you can see how amazing the place is. Cheap it is not, but we hope to go back maybe in the fall/ next winter.
The next big trip is over to the UK in early April. We'll be there Apr 1-9, and the only fixed date so far is Friday the 6th for City v Charlton. I cannot wait to see the kids' reaction to see a stadium full(?) of City supporters....I only hope we score!! If any of you are around in the North West over that time, let us know and we can catch up over a pint or 7.

Last night there was a big wine and cheese party at our friend Sheila's house in Oakville..it all started around 3pm and went late into the night so you can imagine there were some sore heads today.Sheila throws great parties and this was no exception. Early night tonight tho'.

New car!!!

Time has come to trade in the 2000 Ford Focus, and we signed the papers yesterday for the new Mazda 5GT 5 speed( I hate automatic transmissions!).
It's a car/microvan that falls between various categories...is it a tall wagon or a small minivan? It has the mileage of a car but can seat 6....anyway here is a picture I downloaded. We ordered the indigo blue as shown in these photos, and hope to pick it up this week!
